✅ Key Responsibilities Manage and optimize ocean freight strategies across multiple shipping routes and vessel types. Identify, assess, and mitigate ocean freight risks - including exposure to market volatility, chartering risks, weather disruptions, and geopolitical events. Oversee barge operations and short-sea shipping logistics , ensuring alignment with bulk vessel movements. Negotiate charter party terms (spot, COA, time charters) and manage laycan scheduling, demurrage, and claims. Collaborate with internal trading, operations, and risk teams to align shipping strategies with trade flows. Maintain strong relationships with shipowners, freight brokers, port agents, and barge operators. Monitor shipping market trends, freight indices, and regulatory changes to provide timely strategic input. ✅ Requirements Minimum 8 years of experience in ocean freight trading, vessel chartering, or shipping risk management. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field Proven experience in managing ocean freight risks , including chartering volatility, laytime/demurrage, and contract exposures. Hands-on experience with barge operations and coastal/inland waterway logistics. Strong knowledge of Incoterms, charter party agreements, and international shipping regulations. Excellent negotiation, coordination, and crisis management skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly in a dynamic, global trading environment. Fluent Mandarin/Chinese and English (spoken and written); any additional language is a plus
