The Assistant Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth, supporting clients with technical expertise, and ensuring seamless project execution for marine turbocharger maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services. This role requires a strong combination of technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and relationship management skills to engage with ship owners, ship management companies, OEMs, and other key stakeholders in the marine industry. This role is based in our Singapore headquarter.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Technical Sales Support

  • Provide pre-sales and after-sales technical support to clients for marine turbocharger systems and components.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and cost estimates tailored to client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the engineering/service team to design solutions that meet operational and budgetary needs.

2. Client Interaction & Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients in the marine and

shipping sectors.

  • Conduct regular client visits, meetings, and follow-ups to understand needs and identify new business opportunities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for technical and commercial queries.

3. Sales Process Contribution

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities to achieve sales targets.
  • Participate in tender preparation, contract negotiation, and deal closure in alignment with company objectives.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and activity reports in the CRM system.

4. Market & Service Feedback

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to provide actionable insights to management.
  • Recommend service improvements and new offerings based on client feedback and industry developments.

5. Project Handover & Support

  • Coordinate with the operations/service team for smooth handover of confirmed projects.
  • Ensure client expectations are met during service execution and address any issues promptly.
  • Technical Expertise : Ability to understand and explain complex mechanical systems.
  • Commercial Acumen : Strong business sense with a focus on profitability and customer value.
  • Relationship Building : Skilled in developing rapport and trust with clients and partners.
  • Problem Solving : Quick to assess challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Team Collaboration : Works closely with service, operations, and management teams.

KPI

  • Achievement of monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets.
  • Number of new client accounts developed.
  • Client satisfaction ratings and retention rates.
  • Timeliness and quality of proposals and technical support.
  • Market intelligence reports and actionable recommendations provided.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical / Marine Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales or technical support, preferably in marine turbocharger MRO or related marine engineering services.
  • Strong technical knowledge of marine propulsion systems, especially turbochargers from major OEMs (ABB, MAN, MET, etc.).
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and building long-term client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally as required.
