Microsoft Exchange Server Support Engineer

Manage and maintain the Microsoft Exchange Server environment, including mailbox databases, transport services, and DAGs across multiple sites. Administer and optimize Active Directory services, Group Policies (GPOs), and domain controllers for stability and security. Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to ensure reliability for over 5,000 enterprise mailboxes. Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and patching activities for Exchange and AD environments. Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for mailbox management, provisioning, and reporting. Troubleshoot and resolve complex messaging, mail-flow, and authentication issues in a timely manner. Implement and enforce backup, disaster recovery, and security compliance policies for messaging systems. Manage service and change requests, incident response, and root cause analysis in line with ITIL processes. Document system configurations, technical procedures, and architecture diagrams for operational reference. Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to enhance system performance and reliability. Job Requirements Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in managing Microsoft Exchange Server environments with 5,000+ mailboxes in enterprise or multi‑site data centers. Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO management. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting; experience with Bash or Python is an advantage. Solid understanding of Exchange architecture, DAGs, mail flow, and hybrid deployments. Experience in system performance tuning, capacity planning, and monitoring of large messaging environments. Proven experience in backup, disaster recovery, and patch/vulnerability management. Familiarity with ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem management. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive and detail‑oriented mindset. Strong communication skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Messaging or equivalent certification preferred.
