Microsoft Exchange Server Support Engineer

Job Description – Messaging Team You will be part of a team of highly motivated individuals responsible for the development and maintenance of systems for our client. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in building software and systems to manage infrastructure and applications through automation. You should possess strong technical expertise in Enterprise Windows Exchange and Active Directory operations within large-scale, multi-site data centre environments. Responsibilities Build software and systems to manage infrastructure and applications through automation. Manage the Enterprise Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory environment to ensure data integrity, performance, and accessibility. Ensure Enterprise Mail Systems and Identity & Access Services meet operational and compliance requirements, including: Account and Access Management (via GPO Policies) Backup Management Change Management Configuration Management Incident Management Log Management Problem Management Vulnerability and Patch Management Inventory & Disposal Management Assess and implement Service Requests and Change Requests . Provide subject matter expertise and problem‑solving support. Plan and execute upgrades , migrations , and platform maintenance activities . Document configurations, changes, issues, and system diagrams. Perform capacity planning and review performance/statistics logs. Analyse, test, patch, and implement high‑complexity system changes. Investigate and resolve complex technical issues. Measure and optimize system performance; manage capacity for enterprise email systems. Explore and evaluate new technologies and solutions to enhance infrastructure capabilities. Improve system monitoring , alerting , and logging for better performance and faster issue resolution. Collaborate with engineering and application teams to improve system performance and reliability. Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, supporting multi‑site data centres with at least 5,000 mailboxes . Strong scripting experience in Shell , Bash , and Python . Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Strong customer support mindset; able to deliver effective solutions to day‑to‑day technical issues. Collaborative leadership skills to gather requirements and build actionable plans. Strong analytical ability to assess design decisions and balance operational trade-offs. Effective problem‑solving skills for both software and hardware issues. Professional, adaptable, and innovative with a focus on results. Self‑motivated team player with initiative and flexibility. Experience with Design Thinking and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Qualifications & Certifications Diploma or Degree in Computer Science , Engineering , or related disciplines. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) , Microsoft Certified , or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification preferred.
