In this role, the Financial Controller ensures robust financial accounting, compliance, and reporting processes. This role is critical in maintaining financial integrity, supporting audits, managing government subventions and grants, and overseeing corporate banking and Societys secretarial matters and donation receipts in alignment with regulatory and governance standards. This is a key leadership role that combines operational excellence with strategic partnership, helping the organization deliver its mission responsibly and sustainably. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across a wide range of financial responsibilities, from financial management and reporting to day-to-day operations of accounts payable functions, donations, receipts and government funding/subsidy reporting. The role offers broad exposure to senior stakeholders and an opportunity to contribute to strategic financial decision‑making. Role & Responsibilities Lead month-end and year-end close processes of Organisation’s financial results and reporting package, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial statements in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SRS). Ensure proper accounting treatment of donation & grant receipts and maintain complete and accurate records of grants, donations, and monitor fund utilisation; prepare funds report in compliance with donor agreements. Oversee bank accounts opening and the monthly bank reconciliation, ensuring proper authorization and documentation of payments and transfers. Support budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate historical data and trend analysis. Compliance & Controls Develop, implement and maintain financial policies, procedures and internal controls. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, internal governance policies and donor requirements in non‑profit settings. Serve as the primary point of contact for matters relating to internal and external audits, ensuring timely and successful completion. Champion continuous improvement and efficiencies in processes for scalability. Government Subvention and Grant Management Manage financial aspects of government subventions and grants for the organisation, including budgeting, claims and reporting. Ensure timely submission of grant applications and financial utilisation reports. Liaise with funding agencies to clarify and resolve outstanding financial‑related matters. Secretariat Matters for Society Support the preparation and submission of annual returns, other statutory filings and change of office bearers to the Registry of Societies (ROS) and other matters in compliance to Charities Acts via Charity portal. Maintain proper records of board and committee meetings, including minutes and resolutions. Assist in the coordination of annual general meetings (AGMs) and other statutory meetings. Liaise with legal advisors and regulatory bodies on governance and compliance matters. Qualifications, Competencies & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, ACA, or equivalent qualification preferred. 8–12+ years of progressive experience in accounting and controllership, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership position. Strong knowledge of Singapore FRS and regulatory requirements, in the areas of fund accounting and grant reporting requirements. Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams. Excellent communication with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
