The Project Director is responsible for overseeing, managing, and implementing multiple IT projects with quality, within scope, and ensuring deliverables are on time and conform to processes and standards meeting customer’s requirements.

What will you do?

Project Delivery
  1. Review the project lifecycle (initiation, plan, execution, completion)
  2. Review project schedules, quality plans, budgets, and communication and risk management plans
  3. Manage issues arising out of scope definition and subsequent disputes that impacted scope, schedule, and cost
  4. Manage issues arising from integration of various components of the project including hardware, software installation, testing, business process review, redesign, application development, migration, and data conversion
  5. Oversee the implementation of the project with regard to schedules, budget, manpower, and quality
  6. Resolve project overrun issues with Senior Management
  7. Monitor and report on project management progress
  8. Manage resources in terms of mobilizing resources during different periods of time from team to team to maximize productivity or minimize wastage
Customer/Vendor Management
  1. Manage contracts and subcontractors
  2. Effectively engage stakeholders in project decisions and execution
  3. Build long-term customer relationships by anticipating and exceeding customer’s expectations
  4. Negotiate with customers on change control mechanisms to meet schedules and prioritize changes based on business needs
Business Development
  1. Proactively identify opportunities for further expansion or improvement of services delivered to the customer and liaise with the Account Manager(s) for development of that opportunity
  2. Be involved in pre-sale activities
Team Management
  1. Provide leadership to the project team to ensure that proposals/enhancements are fully analyzed and evaluated for benefits and cost
  2. Provide the project team with accurate information about business needs and priorities as well as details about business systems
  3. Participate in leadership activities and provide performance feedback and developmental coaching
  4. Monitor and improve team performance, conduct team building, provide leadership, coaching, and performance management

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Typically 12 years of IT project management experience
  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills including strong persuasive techniques
  • Able to lead, develop, and maintain respectful and trusting relationships
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Able to travel as required
