Ethics Office Manager (Investigations & Compliance)
Position summary: We are looking for an individual with a Legal, Ethics, or Compliance background to support our employees in the APAC region, including South East Asia, Australia, India, Japan, and Korea. The role supports Ethics Office initiatives, including project management, policy and procedure development, and conducting compliance investigations and disciplinary reviews.
Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Lead and manage ethics-related projects, collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization. Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Collaborate with Employment Legal, HR, Employee Relations, and business teams to draft, review and enhance policies and procedures. Proactively identify and mitigate employment-related risks using data.
- Investigations and Discipline: Lead investigations into potential violations of company policies, ethical standards, and applicable laws and regulations. Advise on legal and compliance risks arising from investigations and recommend appropriate actions. Provide legal guidance on compliance matters to internal stakeholders, including senior management.
- Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures with clear guidance. Build strong relationships with key business teams to provide ongoing ethics and compliance assistance.
- Minimum Qualifications :
- Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally from law firms, in-house legal teams, or government agencies (e.g., AGC, CPIB).
- Proven expertise in anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC), HR issues such as bullying, harassment, and discrimination, or related compliance investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct internal investigations, whistleblower cases, fraud, and misconduct, handling sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to work across functions and international teams.
- Proactive, adaptable, and hands-on in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate the purpose and value of ethics and compliance policies to employees at all levels.
- Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in legal roles within global or regional organizations, preferably in the technology sector.
- Familiarity with cross-border compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., PDPA in Singapore) is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing complex internal investigations or whistleblower cases.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines.
