AWS Infrastructure Services is looking for a talented, driven, and highly analytical Supply Chain Manager with demonstrated experience driving process improvement. This role manages (contract manufacturing) vendor(s) critical to the successful fulfillment of hardware to AWS data centers globally. The role is primarily responsible for Site Performance (output, quality, efficiency, costs), CM Partner Relationship Management. The primary performance metrics are target daily/weekly output, SLA adherence as an input to AIS Capacity Delivery Reliability (CDR), First Pass Yield and on-time NPI readiness for all rack types enabled within the region. Secondary metrics include staffed site capacity utilization, Clear-To-Build, server bone-pile, and Racks-in-Transit (RIT).
Responsibilities- Day-to-day management responsibility for high velocity assembly operations
- Act as point of escalation for all vendor related issues
- Manage vendor operational excellence through data driven metrics and continuous improvement activities
- Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives to improve supply chain efficiency and overall cost structure
- Drive complex business analysis to identify business opportunities to improve internal and external processes
- Work cross-functionally to identify and apply best practices and continuous process improvements
- Influence internal technical teams to drive multisystem process & system changes
- Provide scalable solutions for continued scale product and service offerings
- Set project requirements and drive results across internal and external
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to lower risks and reduce lead times
- Influence partner processes, technologies, and policies to achieve mutual benefits for both organizations in a sustainable manner
- Analyze production schedules and demand forecasts, ensuring our customer requirements are met, whilst maximizing site utilization
- Review Production Metrics and Escalations: Begin the day by reviewing KPIs from the previous day’s high-velocity assembly operations. Identify escalations and address them quickly to prevent delays.
- Cross-Functional Meeting on Supply Chain Efficiency: Discuss ongoing initiatives with procurement, logistics, and manufacturing to reduce lead times and costs.
- Vendor Operational Excellence Review: Analyze vendor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Business Process Analysis and Improvement: Use data-driven analysis to propose scalable solutions to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Team Sync on Technical Systems Changes: Coordinate with internal teams on system changes, define requirements, and set timelines.
- Vendor Partnership Strategy: Engage with key vendors to discuss mutual benefits and long-term partnerships.
- Project Management and Results Review: Monitor ongoing projects, manage timelines, and mitigate risks.
- SOP Review and Compliance Check: Ensure SOPs for material management are current and compliant.
- Production Schedule Review and Forecast Analysis: Review upcoming schedules and demand forecasts to balance efficiency and flexibility.
- End-of-Day Review and Continuous Improvement Planning: Summarize the day’s outcomes and set goals for ongoing improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of supply chain experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
