Overview

Engineer / Technical Officer / Technician, Facility Management at Keppel Data Centres.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients.
  • Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner.
  • Respond to emergency calls (during shift work).
  • Assist the Operation Lead in the daily management of the DC Operations and Periodic Preventive Maintenance Management to ensure uptime of the DC critical M&E systems.
  • Conduct daily walkthrough of the DC to record and report faults or defects and maintain records of M&E equipment.
  • Ensure the FOC is monitored and manned at all times; respond to EPMS, BMS, and Fire System alarms in a timely manner; contain or isolate faults and provide escalations per the escalation plan.
  • Perform daily routine checklists to ensure no environmental abnormalities and that all critical M&E systems are in good working condition.
  • Induct and permit subcontractors to work within the Critical Environment domain; review method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure health & safety and operating procedures compliance.
  • Maintain logs and records of instrument readings, equipment and consumable stock levels.
  • Report all unlocked doors and racks to security control.
  • Provide briefing and handover to Shift Duty Technician on outstanding issues and Standing Instructions from the Operation Lead / Assistant Manager / Manager.
  • Submit incidents and field service reports as required.
  • Adhere to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies within the CE domain; comply with site policies, guidelines and practices.
Job Requirements
  • ITE/Nitec/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study.
  • Strong understanding and experience with electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers (e.g., feeders, transformers, generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS, battery banks, ATS/STS, PDU/PMM, chillers, AHUs, chilled water plant, CRAC units, fire alarm and fire suppression systems).
  • Experience with complex automatic control equipment, including relay logic, PLCs, building management systems, and integration with data center infrastructure.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio); working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment; preference for data center, hospital, pharmaceutical production or power plant backgrounds.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety monitoring and control systems in critical environments.
  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC and/or electrical systems; ability to operate as a Team Lead for both Electrical and Mechanical aspects.
  • Able to work rotating shifts and on weekends/public holidays.
