What's the role?

We’re looking for a customer-focused Business Developer to develop their careers in a rewarding, high-performing, international company.

The BD (Business Developer) role is a technical and leadership position within the Hilti BD community. As a BD, you will focus on a portfolio of Owners, EPC, and consultant/specifier contacts important for the industry segment in Singapore. You will create strategies and lead their execution to increase sales from these accounts based on building commercial relationships and technical specifications.

What does the role involve?

Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying key contacts for targeted projects within focus accounts, developing standards and specifications with Hilti solutions, and coordinating with the sales team on current and future industry projects in Singapore. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Contributing to specification and sales development (direct or indirect), building long-term relationships, and executing account strategies with tailored commercial and technical solutions.
  2. Developing segment strategies regionally.
  3. Building senior relationship contacts within customer organizations to drive account strategy execution (department heads, corporate).
  4. Identifying customer challenges and pain points, providing feedback for new product development to meet customer needs.
  5. Supporting technical teams in driving specifications, working with designers, engineers, project teams, procurement, and discipline managers across multiple disciplines (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping & Procurement).
  6. Analyzing economic and market trends affecting the company and developing strategies to capitalize on changing circumstances.
  7. Maintaining effective communication systems within the team and company.
  8. Collaborating with multiple offices and regions.
What you need is:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Civil.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development or sales of engineering products or solutions; marketing management experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Semiconductors, Pharma, or Data Center Projects in Singapore is preferred. Existing networks with Singapore EPCs and owners are a plus.
  • Strong business sales negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and a drive to succeed.
  • Ability to act independently and think strategically.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • A valid driving license is essential due to the role’s nature.
