We’re looking for a customer-focused Business Developer to develop their careers in a rewarding, high-performing, international company.
The BD (Business Developer) role is a technical and leadership position within the Hilti BD community. As a BD, you will focus on a portfolio of Owners, EPC, and consultant/specifier contacts important for the industry segment in Singapore. You will create strategies and lead their execution to increase sales from the accounts based on commercial relationships and technical specifications.
What does the role involve?Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying key contacts for targeted projects within focus accounts, developing standards and specifications with Hilti solutions, and coordinating with the sales team on current and future industry projects in Singapore. Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to specification and sales development (direct or indirect), building long-term relationships, and executing account strategies through tailored commercial and technical solutions.
- Contributing to the development of the segment strategy in the region.
- Developing senior relationship contacts within the customer's organization to drive account strategy execution (e.g., department heads, corporate).
- Identifying customer challenges and pain points, providing feedback for new offer/product development to meet customer needs.
- Supporting the Hilti technical teams in driving specifications, working with assigned accounts including designers, engineers, project teams, procurement departments, lead engineers, discipline managers, and turnaround teams across disciplines (Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping, Procurement).
- Analyzing economic and market trends affecting the company and developing strategies to capitalize on changing circumstances.
- Maintaining effective communication systems within the team and across the company.
- Collaborating with multiple offices and regions.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Civil.
- At least 3 years’ experience in consultancy, business development, or sales for engineering products or solutions, including marketing management experience.
- Experience in Semiconductors, Pharma, or Data Center Projects in Singapore is preferred. Existing networks with Singapore EPCs and owners are a plus.
- Business sales negotiation skills.
- Strong communication skills, proficiency in English and Mandarin.
- Enthusiasm to learn and drive to succeed.
- Ability to act independently and think strategically.
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
- A valid driving license is essential due to the nature of the role.
