About Our Client

My client is a U.S.-based provider of semiconductor test and inspection equipment, thermal subsystems, and interface solutions. Headquartered in California, they serve global semiconductor manufacturers across the automotive, communications, consumer, industrial, and computing markets.

Their Singapore operations support the company’s global business with manufacturing, sales, service, and tester board repair facilities. The Singapore sites provide regional customers with equipment, test interface solutions, and technical support, reinforcing the company’s presence in Asia’s semiconductor hub.

Position Summary

The Global Supply Chain Leader drives excellence across all supply chain functions worldwide, implementing best practices, optimizing inventory, and delivering cost-effective, high-quality operations. The role manages strategic relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, including R&D and leadership, while negotiating contracts and coordinating procurement globally. The position also develops policies and systems to streamline operations, monitors financial metrics, and builds a high-performance team, overseeing supply chain and procurement professionals across the U.S., Asia, and matrixed global development centers in the U.S., Germany, and Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, implement, and manage global best practices across all supply chain functions to enhance overall business performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement by leveraging KPIs, tools, metrics, and systems to achieve best-in-class performance, and identify strategies to deliver year-over-year cost reductions.
  • Establish, develop, and manage strategic relationships with internal and external partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Collaborate with and influence R&D, key suppliers, and other leadership-level stakeholders while managing complex third-party relationships.
  • Negotiate major contracts and coordinate purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing teams to maintain inventory at planned levels; review and plan requirements to ensure acceptable global inventory.
  • Plan and execute timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning, and quality management of materials, while coordinating global procurement efforts.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline operations, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure material availability throughout the supply chain and maintain inventory at minimum acceptable levels across all global manufacturing sites.
  • Monitor and interpret corporate financial metrics to guide departmental activities.
  • Coordinate with finance and accounting on inventory-related matters.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the supply chain function; hire, manage, and retain a high-performance team while providing mentorship and coaching.
Management Responsibility

Oversee a team of supply chain and procurement professionals across the U.S., Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, as well as matrixed organizations and global development centers in the U.S., Germany, and Switzerland.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain preferred.
  • Professional certifications in Logistics, Operations, and/or Purchasing ideal.

Professional Affiliations:

Membership with CIPS/BPICS or equivalent highly desired.

Experience:

15+ years of progressive responsibility and leadership in supply chain management

preferably in back-end semiconductor capital equipment.

Skills/Technical Requirements:

  • Experience designing complex supply chains and building organizations from the ground up.
  • Strong background in supply chain management within semiconductor equipment operations is preferred.
  • Proven track record in global supply chain executive leadership for large enterprises.
  • Technical expertise in driving commodity strategies and managing New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Extensive experience in companies that design and manufacture large, complex electro-mechanical systems, managing total spend exceeding $3 billion.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle Cloud preferred) and Just-In-Time (JIT) methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-site manufacturing and global product distribution.
  • Skilled at collaborating across teams, functions, and geographies to achieve business objectives.
  • Excellent negotiation skills within engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience implementing new processes to improve efficiency and operational performance.
  • Expertise in supplier process development, quality management, and failure analysis/problem-solving.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities, with the competence and confidence to lead large teams.
  • Ability to quickly learn products, understand internal stakeholders, and drive complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Creative thinker with strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
  • Capable of performing effectively in dynamic, high-pressure environments while maintaining composure.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining a strategic, big-picture perspective; results-driven self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.

Monthly Salary: SGD25,000 – SGD30,000
