Area of interest: Audit, Accounting & Finance

Group Internal Audit (GIA) is an independent function supporting the Standard Chartered Board and Executive Management team. We do this by helping
protect the Group’s assets, reputation, and sustainability. GIA represents the Bank’s third line of defence, we also provide independent assurance on the
effectiveness of the management control of business activities (the first line), and the control of processes maintained by risk frameworks and policy owners
(the second line).

About the programme

Our 10-week Internship Programme gives you the opportunity to gain first-hand experience working on real-world problems, hone your skills, create lasting
relationships, gain insights, and discover your strengths. Throughout the programme, you’ll acquire the skills for immediate success, as well as understand
what’s required for the future as our industry and your career evolve. A strong performance on the programme could lead to a graduate job offer.

Through this immersive programme, you’ll learn about our Group Internal Audit (GIA) team and the processes, people and roles. You’ll gain a thorough
understanding of what a career within the GIA team could look like.

Your programme will include:

  1. A one-day orientation introduces you to the Bank and your fellow interns
  2. Four days of classroom instruction on our products, our business, and our bankers
  3. On-the-job training and technical seminars to support your learning
  4. Performance reviews and support of managers, mentors, and buddies
  5. Presentations by senior management (speaker series) and engagement with executive management
  6. Networking within the GIA business function and across other divisions
  7. Engaging in community service

We welcome students from all degree disciplines and encourage students from diverse backgrounds to apply.

We’re looking for team players with excellent academic achievements and extracurricular activities, with strong collaboration, project management and
technical skills, with the desire to innovate and challenge the status quo.

You need to be a penultimate year student, able to intern in June 2025 and start full-time employment in July 2026. You’ll have the permanent legal right to
work in the country you’re applying to.

Exceptions

• In UK and UAE, we consider candidates requiring visa sponsorship. In UAE, priority is given to UAE nationals.

*Internships start in April in India
