Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining and improving plant availability, reliability, and efficiency through effective maintenance practices and on-site engineering advice. The scope includes systems and equipment such as Pumps, Compressors, Blowers, Fans, Gearboxes, Tanks, Pressure vessels, RO membranes, Micro Filtration membranes, Lifting machines, Gas and steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam boilers, and related ancillaries.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review asset life expectancy and maintenance plans to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure prompt repair and maintenance of equipment according to schedules and ad-hoc requests to maintain plant availability.
  • Identify and report on plant inefficiencies and improvements.
  • Execute condition monitoring programs and recommend actions.
  • Design short-term engineering solutions to resolve plant issues efficiently.
  • Implement generalist-engineering solutions on-site as needed.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance staff, manage plant overhauls, and ensure safety and compliance.
  • Provide training, prepare work procedures, SOPs, MSRA, and liaise with contractors and OEMs.
  • Ensure a safe working environment, promote teamwork, and manage team staffing and budgets.
  • Coordinate with external agencies on operational and regulatory issues.
  • Prepare maintenance budgets and ensure compliance with MOM regulations for pressure vessels, lifting machines, and other equipment.
  • Participate in safety committees and emergency drills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably recognized by the Professional Engineer Board, Singapore.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a power plant or related industry.
  • Self-motivated, independent, with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Practical knowledge of power plants, water plants, turbines, boilers, RO, and filtration systems.

Special Requirements

  • Availability after office hours, understanding of Singapore statutory regulations, and strong management skills.
