Job Descriptions: 1. Project Procurement Management Manage procurement activities aligned with drilling project schedules, long-lead equipment timelines, and critical path milestones. Prepare RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs for drilling equipment, services, and consumables. 2. Sourcing of Drilling Equipment & Services Source and procure key items such as: Blowout Preventers (BOPs) Drawworks, top drives, and mud pumps Drilling fluids and chemicals Rig refurbishment or modification packages Evaluate suppliers for technical capability, compliance, QHSE performance, and financial stability. 3. Supplier Negotiation & Contracting Negotiate contractual terms, commercial conditions, pricing structures, warranty clauses, and service agreements. Work with legal/contract teams. 4. Compliance, Technical & Regulatory Requirements Ensure procured items comply with: Project requirements Local content requirements (where applicable) HSE and operational risk standards Oversee vendor documentation, material certificates, FAT/SAT requirements, and quality inspections. 5. Cross-FunctionalCollaboration Coordinate closely with: Drilling Engineers for technical specifications and drawings QA/QC for inspections, NCR handling, and supplier audits HSE for safety-critical equipment compliance Logistics for international shipments and customs clearance Finance for budget tracking and cost forecasting 6. Cost and Risk Management Track and control procurement costs aligned with AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) budgets. Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality. Manage risks related to long‑lead items, supplier capacity, geopolitical constraints, and logistics disruptions. Establish contingency plans for supply delays. 7. Supplier Performance Management Monitor supplier OTD (On‑Time Delivery), quality performance, documentation compliance, and warranty support. Conduct supplier audits, performance reviews, and corrective action follow‑ups. Maintain strong relationships with OEMs, drilling contractors, and service providers. 8. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate procurement records, bid tabs, inspection reports, and contract files. Prepare procurement status reports for project managers and senior leadership. Ensure readiness of documentation packages for rig acceptance and regulatory reviews. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Strong understanding of drilling operations, rig systems, well construction processes, and oilfield equipment. Knowledge of API, ISO and relevant industry standards. Expertise with procurement processes for long‑lead and safety‑critical equipment. Skilled in contract negotiation and vendor management. ERP proficiency (SAP, Oracle, IFS, or equivalent). Soft Skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management Strong negotiation and analytical capabilities High attention to detail and safety mindset Ability to manage fast‑paced, high‑pressure project cycles strong planning and priority‑management skills Proactive problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Engineering background preferred in drilling‑focused organizations). 6–10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in Oil & Gas drilling/rig operations. Experience with upstream projects (onshore or offshore). Certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or PMP are beneficial.
