Your Role The Associate Scientist II – Biosafety Testing is responsible for performing a wide variety of routine tasks to support GMP operations and primarily focuses on Molecular Biology, NGS, Virology and Cell Culture work related to Biosafety Testing. Responsibilities include performing PCR-based assays, NGS testing, or Cell Culture/Virology assays in Biosafety laboratories to characterize products, maintain detector cell lines, prepare and qualify reagents, monitor stock levels, and conduct general equipment maintenance to sustain workflow and laboratory performance. The Associate Scientist II may provide training and mentoring to junior members of the lab. Maintaining effective working relationships with Scientists, Lab Scientists, support services, and laboratory personnel will be critical for success in this role. What You Do Work within the Molecular Biology, NGS, Virology, and Cell Culture laboratories following Standard Operating Procedures and compliance regulations. Adhere to SOPs and regulatory standards; ensure work is carried out per established protocols. Learning Management System: ensure timely completion of required training to perform assays or tasks. Timely completion of studies and record keeping compliant with GMP standards. Assays transfer: perform assay transfers following relevant protocols. Document Control: maintain SOPs, laboratory books, and forms; update documents as needed. Stock Control and Procurement: manage stock levels and procurement through designated systems. Laboratory Maintenance: perform housekeeping, equipment checks, and environmental and personnel monitoring for compliance and safety. Health and Safety: maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies. Training and Mentoring: may train and mentor junior lab personnel. Quality Audits and Regulatory Compliance: participate in internal and regulatory audits as required. Audit Readiness: maintain readiness for audits across laboratory areas. Protocol and SOP Development: author laboratory protocols, SOPs, and workbooks for projects. Peer Review and Data Management: conduct peer reviews of raw data and ensure accurate data management. Deviation/CAPA: raise and progress deviation and CAPA records promptly. Continuous Improvement: identify and implement improvements to laboratory processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Site or Global Initiatives: participate in site or global initiatives. Who You Are Minimum Degree in Biological Sciences or higher qualification in a relevant scientific subject 3+ years of working experience in biologics or biopharmaceutical industry 3+ years of working experience in a regulated environment (GMP or equivalent) 2+ years of working experience in specific areas (molecular biology, virology, microbiology/mycoplasma) with demonstrated troubleshooting ability Quality mindset and good understanding of GMP Experience implementing projects to set up/improve lab processes or systems Good oral and written communication skills in English Problem solving and planning skills ERP experience is an asset (Oracle / SAP/ LIMS/ Trackwise) Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Adheres to safety SOPs and follows safe work practices Team player, proactive, and willing to take ownership Strong aseptic technique and cell culture skills (for Virology focus) Strong molecular biology skills and NGS applications (for NGS focus) Willingness to work overtime or shifts to cover business needs when necessary What we offer We are curious minds from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
