About the Role The Data Science team is a critical partner in product development and decision-making at Coinbase. As a Data Scientist II, you’ll work alongside Product, Engineering, and Design teams to provide strategic insights, guide experimentation, and help improve user experiences with data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed product analyses to answer key questions and make strategic recommendations. Design and lead A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate product changes and business decisions. Define, track, and maintain core metrics; contribute to data infrastructure improvements. Communicate findings clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams. Collaborate on projects that drive product iteration and innovation. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or higher degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science). Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data science, preferably in a digital product environment. Proficient in SQL for data analysis. Skilled in Python for modeling, scripting, and automation. Strong foundation in statistics, A/B testing, causal inference, and/or machine learning. Demonstrated alignment with Coinbase’s cultural values: Clear communication Continuous learning Nice to Have Experience working in the fintech or crypto industry. Familiarity with product development lifecycles and rapid iteration. Knowledge of advanced experimentation methods and user behavior analysis.
