Overview

Manufacturing Technician (1 year contract) – Singapore (Jurong). The role involves operating equipment and facilities safely and efficiently, maintaining good housekeeping, and collaborating with a team to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. This position supports production operations and may involve senior technician responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs batch / unit or ancillary operations safely and efficiently following standard operating procedures; leads technicians in unit operations. Takes in process samples and carries out checks using analytical instruments.
  • Conduct routine mechanical and lubrication checks; perform early maintenance and repair using hand tools where required.
  • Handle materials movement using hand-pallet trucks, reach trucks or other equipment following SOPs.
  • Ensure batch and operating log sheets are correctly recorded and complied with.
  • Follow good documentation practices and ALCOA+ principles; adhere to document error management procedures if a document error is observed.
  • Communicate clearly with superintendent and colleagues; hand over production status and safety/quality/efficiency items at end of shift.
  • Perform engineering-related work with technicians during process runs, plant configuration during campaign changeovers, or maintenance using hand-tools (e.g., filters changes, equipment replacement). Prepare plant and equipment for engineering maintenance.
  • Inspect and maintain housekeeping in assigned area; ensure PPE, safety, and fire-fighting equipment are ready for use.
  • Carry out fire fighting / first-aid duties as assigned and trained.
  • Troubleshoot plant issues using problem-solving tools to minimize stoppages and safety or quality incidents.
  • Raise improvement ideas and implement initiatives to support department objectives.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by the superintendent, production leader or senior technicians.
Skills, Knowledge And Experience Professional
  • Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Technology or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical API plant
  • Experience in rotating shift work
Technical
  • Familiar with good manufacturing practices, safety procedures
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Basic awareness of industrial standards
  • Good knowledge in maintenance and operating principles of production and utility equipment
  • Plant inspection skills (for Superintendent deputy role, as needed)
  • Good knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems and Risk Assessment (for Superintendent deputy role, as needed)
  • Correct documentation errors in accordance to existing procedures
