Overview

Our client is a globally recognized financial services group with a strong footprint across Asia and beyond. As part of its expansion in Singapore, the firm is seeking a highly experienced Head of Compliance to lead and oversee its compliance function in the region.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the Securities and Futures Act (SFA) and related regulatory frameworks under the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Prior exposure to both retail and institutional securities trading or online brokerage businesses is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring the firm’s operations in Singapore are fully aligned with local regulatory standards. Your core responsibilities include:

• Serving as the primary liaison with MAS, exchanges, and other regulatory authorities.
• Providing timely interpretation and guidance on applicable laws, regulations, and MAS guidelines relevant to securities brokers.
• Designing and maintaining compliance frameworks to meet MAS and exchange requirements for all regulated activities.
• Collaborating with IT and development teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications and system changes.
• Drafting and updating compliance manuals, policies, and supervisory procedures.
• Leading regulatory inspections and internal/external audits, including the implementation of remedial action plans where necessary.
• Staying abreast of regulatory developments and proactively assessing their impact on the business.

Candidate Profile

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven track record in a compliance leadership role within a MAS-regulated financial institution, exchange, or regulatory body.
• In-depth knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory landscape, particularly the SFA and related MAS guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a hands-on approach.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to balance regulatory compliance with commercial pragmatism.
• Technologically proficient; comfortable working with tech teams on regulatory-driven initiatives.
• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
• Team-oriented mindset with experience in lean team environments.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to change.
