Research Associate (O&G) — National University of Singapore

Department: Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G), affiliated with the Global Center for Asian Women’s Health (GloW: Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments offered on a 1- or 2-year contract basis in the first instance.

Location: Kent Ridge Campus

Employee Referral Eligible: No

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Purpose of the post

This position provides administrative support as a Research Associate to the Director of the Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health. The Centre is a population health program aiming to advance women’s health in Asia and globally. The Research Associate will work closely with the Center Director and various project stakeholders (e.g., PIs, RAs, clinics).

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders for participant recruitment and data collection; be accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI).
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data collection based on medical records and data entry.
  • Manage schedules of PIs, RAs, and recruitment subjects to ensure projects run optimally with minimal delays.
  • Plan appropriate coordination strategies to manage project requirements.
  • Provide effective and timely assistance to the Director in managing her calendar and meetings; assist with participation in conferences/seminars and workshops.
  • Assist in travel arrangements and serve as claims assistant for travel, transport and hospitality submissions to keep the Director’s travel plans organized.
  • Develop own research interests embedded in the Global Women’s Health Centre and conduct relevant study analyses for manuscripts.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree; preferably with knowledge/experience in public health, medicine, and/or biology. Ability to work independently and in a team; investigative nature and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Initiative, strong problem-solving skills, ability to multitask, and capability to work independently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strict integrity standards in handling confidential matters.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; tact, discretion, and diplomacy to work with diverse groups.
  • Well organized with good monitoring and follow-up skills within tight deadlines.
  • Resourceful and comfortable in a fast-changing environment.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
