The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Project Officer. Key Responsibilities Design and fabricate wirelessly controlled sensor-backpack mounting on living insects to electronically stimulate their neurons and muscles for navigation and report environmental conditions. Develop firmware, algorithms, data structures, and user interfaces for sensor-backpack remote control. Integrate customized algorithms into insect-computer hybrid robot operations and test sensor-backpack functionality on living insects. Produce technical write-ups and presentations. Job Requirements Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical and Electronics, or Computer Engineering. Experience in PCB design and fabrication. Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems. Experience in real-time operating system development. Knowledge of wireless communication (BLE, Sub-GHz, UWB, etc.) is advantageous. Experience in C#, Java, JavaScript, Python is advantageous. Knowledge of insect anatomy and physiology is advantageous. Team player with a problem-solving mindset.
