Delivering technical and programming leadership to the centre’s recreational gymnastics program and manage junior trainers to ensure quality assurance and excellent delivery.

The job description includes:

  • Support and contribute to the company’s mission statement - Empowering children through Active play
  • Line manage the junior trainers in the gym on site ensuring that they are qualified and educated in line with the company’s quality standards.
  • Ensure that a commercially successful recreational centre is run.
  • Ensure that monthly and annual participation and service delivery KPIs are met.
  • Ensure course registers are up to date and course payments are received.
  • Respond to class enquiries in a timely manner and engage parents in a positive manner
  • Support the development of the recreational Gymnastics program or in sports.
  • Motivate and assist the children to develop and learn new skills.
  • Know how to reduce the risk of injury through spotting.
  • Plan and prepare progressive lesson plans for all classes (in writing)
  • Ensure junior trainers are aware of their duties and have been provided with lesson plans within an appropriate time frame.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the various stakeholders
  • Ensure quality sessions are being delivered by the trainers at all times
  • Remain fully informed of the latest developments in gymnastics.
  • Ensure the Health / Safety / Cleanliness policy of the centre is adhered to all times.
  • Maintain high standards of personal presentation and ensure that the coaching team are all following the same procedures.
  • Attend any training which is required as well as plan out training schedule for junior staff on new program introduction
  • Work with the other trainers in the preparation, running and evaluation of each session.
  • Acting as a mentor in the development of other coaches.
  • Provide cover or suitable notice of cancellation of any sessions that cannot be attended.
  • Handle recruitment as needed.
  • Require someone with Sports Coaching Qualification or with relevant Gymnastics qualification.
  • Work with the Directors on the planning and growth strategies of the company.
  • A fun personality is a must
  • Previous experience working with children.
  • Comfortable using computer software programs like Word, Excel as well as Google Docs.
