Specialist - Maintenance & Utility (AIPL)

Job Purpose

Ensure smooth plant operations by maintaining machinery, utilities, and infrastructure through preventive and predictive maintenance, cost-effective practices, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Equipment Maintenance : Perform scheduled preventive and breakdown maintenance. Monitor and improve equipment performance; maintain accurate records. Hands-on work with servo motors (Mitsubishi, Schneider, Panasonic), VFDs (Delta, Mitsubishi), stepper motors, encoders, robots, and vision systems.
  2. Utility Management : Operate and maintain utilities such as compressed air systems, chillers, HVAC/AC, DG sets, STP/ETP (if applicable), substations, panels, and fire alarm systems. Track and optimize utility and energy consumption.
  3. Predictive & Preventive Maintenance : Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules. Use diagnostic tools (thermography, vibration, ultrasonic) to detect issues. Analyze failures and apply corrective actions to reduce downtime.
  4. Spare & Inventory Management : Ensure availability of critical spares via inventory control. Coordinate with stores/procurement to maintain MRO stock with min-max levels.
  5. Safety & Compliance : Ensure maintenance work meets safety, health, and environmental norms. Support IMS audits with documentation; conduct JSA and HIRA assessments.
  6. Vendor Coordination : Liaise with OEMs and AMC vendors for services and repairs. Manage AMC contracts and evaluate vendor performance.
  7. TPM / Kaizen / 5S / Lean : Contribute to TPM initiatives (autonomous/planned maintenance). Support continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, and Lean projects. Participate in activities to improve overall plant OEE.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Mitsubishi, Delta, Siemens, Allen Bradley PLCs & HMIs.
  • Troubleshooting & RCA capabilities.
  • Familiarity with PLC/SCADA (preferred).
  • Proficient in SAP/CMMS tools.
  • Energy conservation mindset.
  • Team leadership, budget control, spare/store management, line capacity improvement, automation, and project execution.
  • Experience in assembly line buy-offs.
