Responsibilities
  • Monitor Systems for Reliability : Proactively oversee system alerts and thresholds, optimizing detection accuracy and minimizing false positives.
  • Ensure System Performance : Continuously monitor system health, address performance issues, and implement preventive maintenance measures.
  • Develop Monitoring Dashboards : Create real-time dashboards to provide visibility into system health and operational performance.
  • Lead Incident Response : Act as a primary responder to security incidents, system outages, and technical disruptions, minimizing downtime.
  • Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve complex technical issues and ensure effective incident resolution.
  • Support Security Operations : Partner with Security Operations Centre (SOC) teams to manage threat investigations and maintain robust security controls across infrastructure.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis : Analyze critical incidents to identify systemic issues and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Support Compliance : Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal security policies, supporting compliance audits.
  • Maintain Configuration Management : Oversee the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring data accuracy and supporting service management platforms.
  • Develop Knowledge Resources : Create and update incident response procedures, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles to improve operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
  • Education : A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience : A minimum of 5 years in system administration, cybersecurity, or IT operations, including work in incident response environments.
  • Technical Expertise : Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, along with network security technologies.
  • Monitoring Tools : Experience with monitoring tools, SIEM platforms, and proactive incident detection techniques.
  • CMDB Systems : Understanding of Configuration Management Database (CMDB) systems and ITIL processes.
  • Security Knowledge : Familiarity with security frameworks, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Scripting Skills : Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash for automation and system management.
  • Cloud and Virtualization : Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies to manage complex IT infrastructures.
  • Communication Skills : Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration.
  • Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities with a focus on proactive system performance management.
