In line with our growth, we are looking for an Application Engineer (Industrial) for Trelleborg Sealing Solutions, based in Singapore.  

As an Application Engineer (Industrial), your primary responsibility will involve providing technical advice and support to the sales and customer teams in order to develop, sell and successfully implement Trelleborg product, capabilities or service solutions that will meet the customer’s needs.  The AE will analyze the customers technical needs, incorporate the commercial needs, in order to develop proposals, with the support of Trelleborg factory and engineering support groups, outlining how it is implemented with the customers' systems/ equipment. The position demands passion for continuous learning, and a good foundation in technical knowledge.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze information from customers to understand their business and their technical needs and expectations.
  • Develop technical proposals, including technical drawing and calculation, to show how Trelleborg’s products and services can meet customer needs.
  • Deliver technical sales presentations and respond to technical questions regarding Trelleborg's products, services, and capabilities.
  • Joint visit with Sales team to customer site 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Product Managers and Sales.
  • Process and manage engineering projects in a timely manner with a focus on project cycle velocity and project conversion.
  • Attend and manage quality issues to ensure on-time follow-up and resolution.
  • Conduct training and technical presentation to customers and internal team members.

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Material Engineering, or relevant.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in engineering-related field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/ CAD is a must.
  • Knowledge of rubber/plastic products, seals and bearings is beneficial.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to self-manage and successfully work without supervision.
