As we look to execute on an exciting growth trajectory in Asia with Singapore as our base of operations, the Retail Distribution Leader, Singapore will play a critical role in setting our retail market distribution strategy, building the capabilities and expanding our market presence in Singapore.

About the Role
The role will suit an individual who has a strong retail distribution and operations background and gained experience in underwriting, product development and multi-line portfolio management.
This is an important role within the Singapore leadership team as we continue to underwrite opportunity and offer market leading responsiveness and a solution focused mindset to our clients and partners.
Role Purpose
Responsibility for supporting the profitable development and growth of the Singapore retail market portfolio through a strong distribution network
Formulate the Singapore retail distribution strategy and performance metrics and drive the successful execution of the strategy with a focus on the management of risk whilst driving business growth and achieving profit objectives
Drive transformational change and strategic focus by maximizing business value through distribution management, portfolio optimization, operational efficiency and risk selection
Establish and grow a profitable distribution network of high-quality brokers and agents in the mid-market and SME segments
Support the Retail Market team and help create a work environment that fosters teamwork, innovation and cooperation.
Leverage technology to support the retail distribution strategy and improve efficiency
Key Accountabilities
Accountability for the direction, management and performance of the Singapore retail market distribution strategy
Drive market engagement :
generate profitable new retail business and cross-selling opportunities
build a structured and integrated view of the pipeline and sale funnel
balance retention
client and broker engagement
agency development and management
ensure presence and involvement at key mid-market / SME industry events, roadshows and broker and agency activities
build and maintain retail market brand recognition
Key contributor in the development of the Mid-Market / SME products
Support the development of a high-volume platform and implementation of go-to market strategies and retail distribution process
Key contributor to the Singapore Retail Market plan; adjusting distribution strategies and actions to meet the needs of a changing marketplace; effectively preserve and enhance profitability through support in product development and enhancement; pricing discipline, competitive analysis and the development of business-enhancing performance metrics and controls
Business development and execution of yearly business and budget planning and participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews
Professional Experience and Skills
Proven experience as a distribution manager or other relevant insurance role with deep knowledge of the insurance retail market in Singapore
Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with clients, brokers and agents
In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
Strong technical background, problem solving analytical skills, and ability to connect data analytics with strategic deliverables to drive retail business strategy
Strong network of producer and industry contacts
Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business and proven record of delivering meaningful underwriting profit
Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Highly collaborative and able to work effectively with peers and key stakeholders across the organization
