We are looking for a Proposition Development Specialist who will be part of the newly created Enterprise Technology Growth function, focused on supporting the development of innovative technology services and solutions in a consistent global framework, increasing our speed to market. You will be instrumental in supporting the Technology Leads in the development of new services and solutions, bringing domain knowledge and proposition development subject matter expertise through the solution design and implementation, including architectural frameworks and managed services constructs.

The Enterprise Growth Office drives the development and growth of Telstra International’s key strategic technology portfolio’s and is vital to the success of Telstra across the world. We have aggressive growth targets to achieve, and this role is vital in identifying, positioning and winning services and solutions-based technology projects.

A taste of what the role entails…

The Proposition Development Specialist will work with the Technology Leads, Telstra’s Sales and Solution teams, Telstra Alliance and key vendor partners and Telstra Product and Technology team to support the strategy, roadmap, and development of existing and new propositions across Telstra’s Cloud Portfolio, including Managed Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development and execution of the 1–3-year Enterprise Strategy for Telstra International Enterprise.
  • Support engagement with regional stakeholders to gather insights around technology pain points or compelling opportunities, and capture in proposition backlog for management and prioritisation. 
  • Leverage planning expertise to translate strategic OKR’s into Epics, funding requirements, resource requests and dependencies for each quarter, carefully tracking progress against appropriate business cases.
  • Maintain alignment of the Enterprise Growth Office Proposition with group and organisational objectives and provide guidance to others on decision making related to the proposition.
  • Encourage innovation and problem solving by coaching others to assess problems from various perspectives using human centred design methodologies. 
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps to support proposition strategy that enable Telstra to differentiate from competitors and create sustainable high-performance customer service improvements.
  • Engage with key stakeholders across the value chain, to support translating business requirements into superior technology business requirements to enable delivery of customer propositions, services and experiences that drive growth and profitability. 
  • Define how the proposition should be consumed by customers (sales prospecting, ordering, billing, troubleshooting) with support from internal stakeholders. Apply commercial acumen to provide recommendations towards how propositions should be commercialised and priced with respect to market competition. To support the Project Managers and Business Analysts to maintain clarity and focus of the team each sprint by prioritising the Proposition Backlog according to business value, metrics and customer desires. Negotiate with stakeholders to prioritise work and where required, remove lower priority work from the backlog. 
  • Assist in funding processes (e.g., business cases) for the release of funding for the Enterprise Growth Office business plans.
  • Evangelise our offerings with passion and subject matter expertise.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have highly developed skills and experience in customer management, enterprise consulting and cloud solutions, including:

  • 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in technology/telecommunications industry; with at least 1 year background in a Business or Technical Product Owner role 
  • Experience in prioritising deliverable business value with decisiveness and direction 
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills that draw the most out of all participants and converge rapidly on an outcome.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies and terminology
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and launching new business propositions from a fast-moving environment
  • Experience in delivering projects
  • Demonstrable experience in producing quality documentation
  • Exposure to various methodologies, best practices and technologies
  • Up to date certifications on one or more relevant technologies
