ACCOUNTABILITY :
To influence government authorities & officials and trade associations to advance Lubrizol's business strategies and goals, and ensure Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) governance to comply with Lubrizol’s guidelines on charitable donations and align with corporate standards and requirements in Asia Pacific
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and lead Lubrizol’s strategy to successfully engage with relevant government authorities and officials at all levels – central, state, and local - to protect, grow and transform Lubrizol’s business and meet Lubrizol’s objectives in the region Serve as a key external representative of and advocate for policy priorities and objectives with key government policy stakeholders Develop, maintain, and expand relationships and communications with relevant officials and authorities to ensure Lubrizol is known as a thought and policy leader on issues and policies impacting the specialty chemicals industry in Asia Pacific countries, i.e., China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and related markets (including transportation and industrial lubricants and additives, durable polymer technology, medical device, pharma and nutraceuticals, personal and home care) Lead advocacy and engagement that advances Lubrizol’s business interests before relevant officials and authorities at all levels Leverage Lubrizol’s expertise and knowhow in identifying and pursuing government engagement opportunities that protect, grow, and transform Lubrizol’s leadership in the specialty chemical industry and related markets Act as corporate lead for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) governance in region to ensure compliance with Lubrizol’s guidelines on charitable donations, to ensure alignment with corporate standards and requirements Provide leadership in aligning regional sustainability activities with corporate sustainability priorities; engage as regional leader for corporate sustainabilityREQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
Education & Professional Background:
Juris Doctor degree or equivalent (MA, MBA) strongly preferred Six (6) to Ten (10) years of experience in or advocating to governments of Asia Pacific countries, such as China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia, and members Government affairs leadership experience in relevant chemical specialty industries, including transportation and industrial lubricants and additives, durable polymer technology, medical device, pharma, personal and home care, preferred Advocacy leadership experience with trade associations Keen insight and excellent market knowledge with a focus on trends and regulationsKnowledge & Skills
Effective communication and presentation skills Collaborative team management and leadership skills Strong analytical and critical thinking skills demonstrated in attention to details and organization to meet deadlines Able to deal effectively with ambiguity, change and uncertainty Comfortable with and able to influence senior leadership Collaborate effectively with multicultural team members to solve complex problems and implement solutions; and Demonstrate influence with internal and external groups#LI-KS1
