Responsibilities/Main Activities

Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division is seeking an Accounting Support Specialist to process key financial transactions, manage expense reimbursements, and assist in the preparation of financial reports. This role will also play a crucial part in maintaining financial records, supporting project accounting activities, and making a significant contribution to the external auditing process.

This role offers flexibility to be based in any of our Australian offices (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, or Perth) , with a truly hybrid working arrangement and option for occasional travel. It presents an exciting opportunity to work in a team that supports 100 employees across Australia.

This role will report to the Accounting Manager, who is based in Sydney.

Key responsibilities:

Prepare standard and nonstandard journal entries and general ledger account analysis Prepare month-end accruals, prepayment journals, overhead allocation, and reconciliation Processing corporate card transactions and some supplier bills Process employee expense reimbursements in compliance with policies and approval matrices Accounts payable cover when required Maintain the fixed asset register and related reconciliations and reporting schedules Account for fixed asset purchases, track fixed assets, and record depreciation Prepare monthly Business Activity Statements Support the Finance team with ad hoc reporting as required Manage the creation, termination, and updates of intercompany charge projects Assist with the external audit process Assist in other finance areas to cover periods of leave

Qualifications and Experience Required

What you will bring:

Qualification in Finance, Accounting or other relevant discipline 2-4 years of accounts payable / receivable or general accounting experience MS Excel – intermediate to advanced proficiency Dynamic Great Plains (Desirable) Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail Possess strong analytical skills Capable of working both collaboratively and independently Exhibit excellent communication skills
