Job Purpose

The Manager develops, implements & reviews WSH policies and programmes, to support Trains BU in meeting the Workplace Safety& Health, Environmental Protection and Fire Safety regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review Trains BU level WSH policies and programmes in alignment with Corporate Policies and Procedures

• Support Line/Division SSQO to identify, evaluate and mitigate workplace safety risks

• Conduct Workplace Noise Monitoring and Annual Audiometric Examination for exposure to noise hazards

• Conduct Workplace Health Surveillance and WSH-related medical examinations for exposure to toxic substances

• Evaluate hazardous chemicals and maintain depository of Safety Data Sheets

• Evaluate Personal Protective Equipment to comply with safety standards

• Assist with routine checks of Route Protection Patrol for Rail Transit System

• Manage the Hazardous Work Coordination System

• Assist to provide WSH advisory to Trains BU projects, A&A and modification works

• Perform secretariat duty for assigned WSH-related meeting

• Kaizen to improve process and procedures for better effectiveness and efficiency

• Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks/projects as and when assigned

Qualifications & Work Experience


• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering
• Specialist Diploma in WSH (Level C) or equivalent
• MOM-Registered WSH Officer is advantageous

Skills

Technical skills include:
• Good knowledge on Workplace Safety and Health Act, Regulations, Code of Practices and Singapore Standards
• Proficient in WSH Risk Management
• Competent in the monitoring and control of workplace noise
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint 

Generic skills include:
• Strong leadership skills to manage tasks and deadlines
• Critical thinker and problem solver
• Strong report writing and presentation skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Good time management
