Business Function

Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.

The bank is also a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Approved Employer.

Responsibilities

(1) Supervise and review the following production tasks:

Daily P&L report production and P&L decomposition. Monitoring of New Deals, Late Deals and Market Operations. Review data used in Back-Testing of VaR. Monitoring checks on transactions done at Off Market rates. Exceptions monitoring on Reported PL vs Trader Estimates and breaches on threshold limits for unexplained PL attributions. Support desks on trade bookings and PL issues. Reconciliation of PL between Management reporting vs General Ledger. GLAO certification on Balance Sheet accounts. Room wide & desk level Reserves computation. Reporting of Key Risk and Performance Indicators.

(2) Change initiative:

Challenge and drive changes in current processes for efficiency and enhanced controls through data driven initiatives.  Lead in initiatives pertaining to system upgrades and new transactions, covering user testing to final implementation.

(3) Stakeholder and Team Management:

Collaborate with various stakeholders and senior management including various teams including Front Office, Market Risk, Operations and Group Finance. Coach and provide guidance to direct reports. Liaise with internal and external auditors on audit requests and matters.

Requirements

8 - 10 years’ relevant work experience in product control /banking finance /audit function for financial institution. Strong knowledge and understanding of treasury products, its inherent risks and accounting for these products preferred. Strong control awareness and inquisitive mindset. Self-starter, able to work independently and challenge and drive changes to the current processes. Strong oral and written communication skills. Management experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Knowledge in Murex system, data analytics and data mining would be advantageous.
