AVP / Senior Associate, Tax Specialist, Group Finance

Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
The bank is also a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Approved Employer.
Instititutional Banking Group (IBG) provides financial services and products to institutional clients including bank and non-bank financial institutions, government-linked companies, large corporates and small and medium-sized businesses. Based in Singapore, this role supports tax advisory for IBG Business and tax / Transfer Pricing (TP) compliance for International Centre (IC) locations (including regional controversy and tax reporting).
Key Accountabilities
Provide tax advisory support for the IBG Business Ensure robust and timely tax / TP compliance for International Centre (IC) locations working with IC finance teams Report on IBG Business / IC tax holistically to support senior management oversight Drive outcomes for tax controversy / dispute resolution across IC locations Assist with initiatives to roll-out tax policies / controls across IBG Business and IC locationsResponsibilities
Advise on IBG Business transactions (), ensuring tax optimised outcomes while managing stakeholders and tax risks Oversee and manage tax / TP compliance for IC locations, ensuring country finance teams meet compliance standards, establish processes and implement controls Provide aggregated reporting to senior management on IBG Business / IC tax matters, to support governance and oversight Manage IC tax audits, including coordinating information requests or post-audit process improvements (complex technical / policy related matters would be escalated to Group Tax) Support the broader IBG Business Unit Controller team on the roll-out of initiatives, and actively identify areas within portfolio where improvements can be madeRequirements
Minimum 5 years' accounting / tax reporting experience, ideally gained within a Big4 professional firm and/or industry Strong knowledge of institutional / commercial banking and finance products Experience handling tax compliance in relevant industry (Banking/Finance) preferred Adept at handling financial numbers and Excel modelling Strong knowledge of accounting for banking / financial products Excellent written and spoken communication, including data tools () Interest in learning about tax compliance / reporting (if not from a tax background) Experience in handling stakeholders across multiple jurisdictionsApply Now
