Job Title: Associate AVP Investment Tax Public Markets

GIC is a leading global long-term investor, and we are seeking an Associate AVP Investment Tax Public Markets to join our team. As a key member of our Investment Services Private Markets department, you will be responsible for providing tax support to our Public Markets Investments asset classes.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver early-stage well-rounded tax support to investment teams exploring new opportunities.
  • Provide timely support to investment teams to ensure tax risks and opportunities are well understood.
  • Maintain tax knowledge pertinent to asset classes that invest across the spectrum of Public Market investments.
  • Proactively identify best-in-class tax advisors to support the specific needs of the investment teams.
  • Collaborate with investment teams and other corporate services departments to ensure tax management of investments meets GIC's needs.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies by leveraging technological tools and solutions to streamline workflows and processes.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 to 7 years of income tax experience, with international, Public Markets, financial services and/or M&A tax experience.
  • An accounting/commerce or law degree with tax knowledge and/or holds the Chartered Accountant (CA) designation or comparable professional credentials.
  • A strong team player who displays teamwork and collaboration.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, ability to think broadly and strategically, assess a variety of factors and recommend a pragmatic solution.
  • A strong communicator (written and oral) who is able to adapt own communication style to different audiences.
