This, in turn, helps us to provide better support to our broad client base. **Position Summary The Data Architect role at CloudCover begins at the level of business problems and works with Customers to understand their needs and provides architectural solutions to address them using our Products and Services. The Data Architect needs to talk at a business language level and agree desired outcomes, take those outcomes and translate them into distinct and achievable technology goals and strategies. The Data Architect will work with customers and partners during the technical evaluation phase throughout the sales process. The data architect will help our customers achieve data democratization, management and governance through our Data Management solution, establishing architectural best practices and identifying compelling use cases, helping customers be successful. The Data Architect acts as a trusted advisor to customers and will help customers realize value driven by our Data Management Product and will work with the product engineering team to help define the strategy & product roadmap. **Required Skills**: - 5+ years hands on experience in Cloud technology and Data Engineering - 7+ years in architecture - Proven experience working with senior business and technology leaders to develop vision architectures linking to and describing business outcomes and value propositions - Identify and define business goals - Identify and define technology strategy and drivers to realise business goals - Identify constraints and suggest methods and means to address them and ensure delivery of technology strategy - Customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role with a core skills in either data engineering or data science - Solid experience with any major RDBMS: Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle etc - Solid experience with at least one major NoSQL data store such as MongoDB, Cassandra, REDIS, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Google Cloud Datastore - Experience with architecting analytics platforms using any major “Big Data" ecosystem (Hadoop/Spark/Flink etc) and associated components such as Hive/Pig, HBbase, Kafka, Google BigTable, etc - Develop architecture roadmaps of both capability, solutions and tools to fulfill the vision - Identify gaps in delivery capabilities, tools and methods to meet the roadmap and plan and propose solutions for their fulfillment. - Exceptional analytical and documentation, communication and presentation skills. - Designing performant data warehouse schemas: e.g. star and snowflake schemas, with a deep understanding of the tradeoffs related to normalization/denormalization - Defining data security protocols and enabling access controls, ensuring data integrity across multiple data marts - Defining ETL jobs using distributed/parallel architectures for low latency and highly scalable systems - Mentoring a team of lead engineers and developing their thought process around the consultative mindset - Experience in architecting & implementing data solutions on cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP - You will excel if you have experience with “Big Data”, Analytics, and Data Science services and products on the Cloud, such as: Google: Big Query, Big Table, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud ML Engine, TensorFlow; AWS: Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, Athena, Sagemaker **Responsibilities** - Form successful relationships with clients to deliver business value using CloudCover’s proprietary Data Product - Work with business partners in understanding and translating business requirements into solution designs, understanding tradeoffs in performance, usability, accuracy, integrity of data, and knowing which of these goals to optimize for. - Author reference architectures, guides and demo products to Customers/Partners - End to-end ownership of Proposal responses. Responsible for preparing for customer presentations, sales pitches etc. - Lead customer implementations at CloudCover, providing suggestions and best practices for end to end data delivery, data standards, and data processes - Design and architect systems with the right balance of performance, scalability, ease of consumption - Design and architect to accommodate data security and privacy, data integrity - Design a
