**Finance Manager, Financial Reporting & Accounting**

Singapore - Hybrid working mode

In this role, you will join the Finance & Accounting department that is responsible for providing finance support specifically involved in financial statutory reporting, accounting, financial reporting to internal and/or external stakeholders.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

To handle various types of finance-related work, in particular the financial reporting to various internal and external stakeholders:

- Understanding of the operational and financial systems, and monitoring of internal controls over systems and/or processing to ensure quarterly accounts are produced timely;
- Perform effective review of management accounts and financial statements, drill down to the underlying data and provide in-depth analysis;
- Effectively manage a finance team and co-ordinate with different functions in Singapore and other XL offices particularly India, London, Dublin etc. to ensure the finance related tasks are completed on time;
- Lead the transition to IFRS 17, provide necessary training to the finance team and other departments. Manage the external and internal reporting on timely basis;
- Work closely with auditors and reserving actuaries to ensure that all the financial statements are prepared and presented to auditors and management on timely basis ;
- Manage the audit of IFRS 17 accounts and prepare all the necessary notes and disclosures required for IFRS 17 statements.
- Proactively looking for better ways to provide timely data and support to Senior manager through reporting and analysis;
- Effectively and efficiently handle queries from auditors, tax authorities and provide ad-hoc data and information to them as needed;
- Effectively and efficiently deal with external parties including IRAS, auditors, actuaries, bankers, tax consultant etc.;
- Handling of direct and indirect tax (corporate tax, GST etc.), reviewing the indirect cost allocations on quarterly basis;
- Budgeting and cash flow forecast;
- USGAAP or IFRS quarterly reporting;
- Ad-hoc data analysis, project or any other duties as required.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

- Educational background/Qualifications:

- A degree holder preferably with major in Accountancy, Finance or Economics
- A qualified accountant with professional qualifications of recognized professional bodies such as ACCA etc.
- Working experience:

- Not less than 5-7 years’ working experience with at least 3 years working in finance of general insurance industry;
- Must have knowledge about new accounting standards IFRS 17 and IFRS 9;
- With experience in managing a team of 2-3 people;
- Familiar with all the regulatory reporting requirements to MAS;
- Experienced in dealing with MAS, auditors, actuaries, bankers, tax consultant and IRAS etc.
- With technical knowledge and experience in handling of tax (corporate tax, GST etc).
- With basic knowledge in budgeting and cash flow forecast, and monitoring of internal controls over system and/or processing.
- Preferably with audit experience, but it is not a must.
- Have strong technical accounting knowledge in general insurance business;
- Capable of doing things hands-on; perform effective review of management accounts, financial statements and regulatory returns, drill down to the underlying data and provide in-depth analysis;
- Able to address and resolve issues without delay;
