The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926, is the world-governing body of the sport of table tennis with 227 member Associations in the world. The ITTF supervises the staging of World Championships annually, and several other world title events. Around 120 international tournaments are sanctioned by the ITTF yearly. Its main function is to govern and develop the sport for the benefit of over thirty million competitive players in all parts of the world.

Table Tennis is an Olympic and Paralympic sport and is in the programme of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as of all Multisport Games.

The ITTF is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Continental Events Manager who has good interpersonal and project / event management skills and will be responsible for the spectrum of operational tasks and projects under the ITTF Tournaments & Regulations department.

LOCATION: The position will be based in the ITTF Asia-Pacific offices in Singapore.

MANAGER : The ITTF Continental Events Manager will report to the ITTF Deputy Secretary General.

DUTIES:

- Work in partnership with the ITTF Deputy General Secretary and ITTF Group Staff to develop a holistic strategy on sport technical matters related to Continental and Regional Events.
- Identify ideas to improve the above-mentioned properties ensuring there is alignment with the ITTF Group’s Strategy.
- Being the primary contact to Continental Federations for any enquiries having to do with Events.
- Where Continental and Regional Events are part of qualification pathways towards World Title Events, assist the overall implementation and smooth inclusion in Rankings, where applicable.
- Assist the ITTF Deputy General Secretary with work related with the WTTC Project Management; liaising with Continental Federations on matters related to this.
- Assist with coordination of the ITTF Group Calendar, for events managed and/or run by Continental Federations.
- Liaise with the Member Relations department and the Deputy Secretary General, on all event related matters as they occur from the Agreements with each Continent.
- Assist the Events team with proper use, management and implementation of IT Event Technology (OES, OVR) in Continental and Regional Events, where applicable.
- Assist, with development of all Event facets on Continental Level i.e. development of Regional/Continental Event Supervisors, Match Officials etc.
- Work closely with ITTF Group Staff from different departments as required and related to the job.
- Other tasks as requested by the Line Manager or the ITTF Group CEO.

SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential Criteria
- Relevant tertiary education in Sports Management;
- Experience working within sport competition management;
- Experience working within table tennis or other racket sports;
- Experience in managing projects;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Organizational skills and ability to work with people from different nations and backgrounds;
- Readiness to work irregular and long hours during events;
- Sound Microsoft Office and computer skills

Desirable Criteria
- Professional capacity to work in multiple languages, in particular English. Other languages like Chinese, French, Spanish etc will be considered a plus.
- Experience within the sport of Table Tennis.
