**HEAD, LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE**

We are looking for an experienced **Head of Legal and Compliance **to join our Singapore headquarters as part of our dynamic team of talented, fun-loving individuals and lead the Legal and Compliance department as a member of the executive board.

- Be accountable for leading a high performing legal and compliance team to drive and further develop a corporate legal and compliance strategy. Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members, fostering professional growth and creating a collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the compliance team in Singapore to provide compliance & regulatory advisory services to the company and internal stakeholders.
- Advise on compliance matters and be the custodian of the compliance policies and framework to safeguard the company’s legal and regulatory interest.
- Act as sparring partner to management and all departments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.
- Drive compliance & regulatory projects regarding strategic developments, including the creation and implementation of processes to support the compliance processes of a regulated financial institution.
- Oversee the legal team in Singapore to provide support on maintaining an overall contractual framework, drafting and negotiating business contracts as well as handling of legal procedures and requests by authorities.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to our Executive Team and Business on legal and regulatory matters regarding daily business and financial services operations.
- Drive legal and regulatory projects regarding strategic developments, including implementation of processes related to legal & compliance department of a financial institution.
- Support new business concepts and put complex products and innovative business ideas into a robust legal framework.

**What you offer**:

- A law degree from a reputable law school and bar admission
- Minimum 12-15 years of proven experience in the MAS regulated financial services industry as an in-house counsel, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience in compliance, with a focus on Securities and Futures Act regulated activities and associated AML/KYC requirements.
- Substantial experience with Singapore and international contracts and strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to lead contract negotiations and to deal directly with senior client counsels.
- Track record of management experience in the set-up and implementation of compliance departments and frameworks in Capital Markets Services Licensed entities.
- Profound functional knowledge in relevant areas of law, i.e. banking law, corporate matters and contract law in general, web3 and regulatory matters.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team of legal and compliance professionals.
- Conceptual thinker with strong analytical and technical skills as well as courage to provide clear guidance based on own assessments.
- Problem-solving ability and mental flexibility to find pragmatic solutions supporting the Business with innovative products and business concepts.
- Goal and results oriented, able to work with mínimal direction and providing hands-on and practicable solutions (with a good commercial business sense).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong stakeholder management capabilities.

**Nice to have**:

- Fluency in Mandarin would be an advantage
- Certification as a compliance professional
- Familiarity with the Payment Services Act and Technology Risk Management guidelines in Singapore
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in other Asian jurisdictions
