1. Role Description:
The Sales Manager in the freight forwarding industry is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the client base. This role focuses on building and maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. Key responsibilities include business development, client relationship management, sales strategy development, proposal and contract negotiation, market research, communication, and collaboration.

2. Specific Responsibilities:
1. Client Acquisition: The sales manager actively seeks out potential clients within the freight forwarding industry. This involves researching target markets, identifying prospective customers, and reaching out to them through various channels such as cold calling, networking events, and industry conferences.

2. Sales Strategy Development: They are responsible for devising effective sales strategies tailored to the company's objectives and market dynamics. This includes determining pricing strategies, identifying key selling points, and crafting compelling sales pitches to attract clients.

3. Relationship Building: Building and nurturing relationships with clients is crucial. The sales manager works on establishing trust and rapport with both existing and potential clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions that meet their requirements.

4. Proposal and Contract Negotiation: They lead negotiations with clients, presenting proposals, and discussing terms and conditions of contracts. This involves understanding the intricacies of freight forwarding services, pricing structures and legal aspects to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.

5. Market Research: Keeping abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities is essential. The sales manager conducts ongoing market research to identify opportunities for business growth, assess customer needs and refine sales strategies accordingly.
