**Head of Membership & Engagement
**The Role
As **Head of Membership & Engagement **, you will be responsible all aspects of membership including new member acquisition as well as continuing member engagement at 1880 SG, including management of memberships in Bardo, our co-working space. At a Group level, you will also contribute and participate in our expansion plans specifically from a membership perspective, in ensuring consistency of membership fees and benefits across new venues.

As an ambassador for the brand, you will fully embrace 1880’s ethos and support its’ purpose. As a leader, you will be expected to lead by example for all staff and be the strongest advocate for all members. You will demonstrate and incredible work ethic and abide by key qualities of curiosity, kindness, fairness, transparency and courage.

You will lead the Membership team and oversee the training of the Membership, Events and Front of House to ensure that the teams can speak to our brand and become our brand ambassadors and are able to lead tours for potential members.

You will drive membership acquisition and retention based on agreed budgets and manage membership issues that may arise. This includes deep understanding of membership conversion, acquisition and engagement.

You will come up with new concepts or ideas for member focused events or member groups to drive engagement. You will work closely with all Heads of Departments to ensure that members enjoy the 1880 experience every time they visit or engage with us.

**Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in similar industry, ideally someone who understands the Membership & Engagement required for a private members club and enjoys being in regular face to face contact with members.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication & relationship management skills.
- Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employees and Partners.
- Ability to create & lead a comprehensive Membership Engagement program, involving current and future Members, to address their needs and wants, conscious and subconscious.
- Gravitas. Our members comprise many of the most interesting and successful people in Singapore, so being able to communicate is critical.
- A consummate people person and natural networker.
- A well-travelled individual with an educated worldview and a learned appreciation of different cultures, politics, professions and social scenes.
- Positive, proactive, a proven team player.
- Excellent spoken and written English skills,
- Strong MS Office and analytical skills necessary to analyse membership conversion and engagement.

**Responsibilities:
- Onboarding and acquiring new members
- Continuing member engagement, understanding member needs and coming up with new concepts and ways to engage them.
- Leading and training a world-class membership team.
- Able to think critically from member perspective and to contribute to ensuring consistency of membership experience across different venues.
- Ensure that members and their affairs are dealt with in a courteous, efficient and professional manner in keeping with the expectations of a world class members club and able to deal with and resolve difficult membership situations.
- Able to work with Heads of Department and across teams to ensure that Member perspective is understood and member experience is always excellent.
- Able to lead direction and strategy and programming to ensure that 1880 values and ethos are reflected in our philanthropic endeavours.
