**Senior Director/Director, Philanthropy and Business Development**

The Milken Institute is seeking a Senior Director/Director, Philanthropy and Business Development - based in Singapore - to support the Milken Institute’s expansion into philanthropy and amplify business development efforts in the Asia Pacific region.

Working closely with the Executive Director for Global Markets, the Director will be responsible for building and executing the strategic philanthropy plan and helping grow the business development outreach efforts of the Milken Institute in Asia.

The Director will work closely with the Asia team and the Milken Institute’s Center for Strategic Philanthropy and Business Development teams in the United States to significantly expand our relationships, programs and offerings in Asia.

**Responsibilities**:
Business Development with Industry leaders
- Lead efforts to build new partnerships with potential sponsors in targeted growth areas including, but not limited to asset managers, investment banks and other relevant financial institutions
- Advance the already strong pipeline of sponsors as well as expand into new industries, markets and organizations
- Bring in new relationships that will grow and lift the network of the Milken Institute in Asia
- Engage, fundraise and secure grants from foundations and UHNWI
- Manage and independently engage stakeholders with Asia’s top philanthropists and CEOs of leading Asia Pacific family offices
- Lead the effort of building robust communities consisting of single-family offices, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and other asset owners
- Manage relationships with key philanthropic partners and key players within that ecosystem

Program Development
- Actively program and fundraise for Milken Institute events, with a heavy focus on our Asia Summit, Global Conference and other regional convenings like the Hong Kong Symposium

Qualifications:
10+ years relevant experience with a proven track record in:

- Fundraising from the private sector and securing large-scalegrants from foundations/governments, and launching and executing programs
- Experience working with leading Asian families and foundations
- Extensive knowledge of the philanthropic world in the Asia Pacific region
- Extensive network of philanthropists and family principals
- Personal attitude that includes being outgoing, entrepreneurial, action-oriented and flexible with the ability to navigate interpersonal situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and respond promptly to internal and external communications
- As this position requires working with a global team, flexibility to be available for calls scheduled in various time zones and regular travel
- Familiarity with the philanthropic ecosystem in Asia, from foundations to multi-lateral organizations to non for profit organizations.
- Work experience in different parts of Asia
- Experience working in the United States and in multi-cultural environments
- Master’s Degree from a leading global university
- Must have a work permit for Singapore
