**Job Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Learn and understand critical proprietary business systems built /running in the Mainframe.
- Maintain all system & sub-system environments in compliance with the security guidelines.
- Assist with testing, implementation, and installation of each sub-system and associated software.
- Diagnose and resolve environment system abends and abnormal operating problems using system logs, and other available logs and documents.
- Develop/Maintain/Improve in-house programs and utilities.
- Have an understanding and experience of IBM SMP/E environment and ability to use SMP/E to install software.
- Maintain system documentation.
- Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotation basis which at times require work outside of normal business hours to support critical tasks.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery Operations
- Raise and follow up on any problem cases with software vendors until issues are resolved.
- Ability to work on project teams, delivering on key project milestones, and communicating effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Manage mainframe communications in areas such as VTAM, TCPIP and TN3270 etc, including customization to HDB standards through activities such as maintenance, problem resolution, security compliance or z/OS upgrade.

**Technical Support and Administration of MQ Series**
- Administer MQ Series in a clustering environment.
- Perform all functions related to MQSeries clustering including administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, upgrades, and problem-solving.
- Conduct impact analysis, strategize, plan, and execute upgrade to new versions of MQ

**Technical Support and Administration of DB2**
- Administer DB2 Subsystems in a DB2 data sharing environment.
- Review and configure DB2 configuration (zparm) to ensure settings are appropriate and will provide optimum operating behaviour for DB2 onsite.
- Provide performance-tuning to DB2 on z/OS to ensure mission critical software are running efficiently.
- Conduct impact analysis, strategize, plan, and execute upgrade to new versions of DB2 database.

**Technical Support and Administration of CICS**
- Administer CICS in a CICSPlex environment.
- Tune CICS configuration to ensure CICS does not encounter storage shortages and/or any other system performance issues.
- Provide proactive and automate monitoring of DB2 and CICS using tools to meet high availability standards in a 24x7 operating environment.
- Conduct impact analysis, strategize, plan, and execute upgrade to new versions of CICS
