Our client is one of the biggest Japanese logistics companies that provide comprehensive distribution services in Asia and they established a new company to strengthen their freight forwarding function in Singapore. They are currently looking for a General Manager who is specialized in procurement.
【 What you will be doing 】
- Defining, implementing, and executing the Procurement Strategy.
- Conducting Global Carrier Meeting and negotiating with carriers by him/herself to obtain competitive rates and space allocation (commitment) / conditions.
- Building a new procurement team, and employing and training new staff as procurement specialists.
- Leading team(s) to accomplish to reach GOALs.
- Negotiating FAK, NAC, Basket Rates, and Block Space Agreements mainly for Long Haul Trades with Carriers.
- Negotiating credit terms with Carriers.
- Negotiating strategic incentive schemes with Carriers.
- Monitoring the performance of our commitments to our Global Carriers. Aligning with Regional and Country Ocean Cargo teams within the Group to ensure the targets are met.
- Procurement of volumes as per set thresholds annually directly with core Carriers.
- Contract review and optimization against market conditions.
- Working closely together on product development with the Marketing and Product Team to develop with sales teams and Ocean Cargo teams within the Group.
- Working closely together with the tender team network on Ocean RFQs.
- Provide up-to-date market information and share it with whom may need it within the Group.

- Minimum Diploma Holder.
- At least 8 years of experience in freight forwarding and/or shipping company operating container vessels with 4 years of team management experience.
- Experience in planning and execution of Procurement Strategy, especially in dry container and shipping space.
- Comfortable with a start-up environment.
- ** Working Hour**: 9:00 ~ 18:30
