Investment Director

We are seeking an **inspiring strategist** and a **target-oriented **Investment Director to join our organisation which focuses investments in early-stage startups at the pre-seed, series, and series A stages. As an Investment Director, you will play a critical role in managing and executing our investment strategy at the intersection of these three spaces - nutritional security, sustainability, and well-being - identifying and nurturing promising investment opportunities, actively engaging with portfolio companies, and articulating the investment thesis and strategy of the organization. You will be responsible for driving the investment process from sourcing deals to conducting due diligence and negotiating terms.

**Key responsibilities**

**Deal sourcing**
- Proactively source investment opportunities that align with organisation investment thesis and strategy.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with startups and entrepreneurs.
- Attend industry, events, conferences, and networking events to identify and engage with potential investment targets.

**Due diligence**
- Conduct comprehensive due diligence including market analysis, financial modelling, evaluating founding team’s capabilities, risk assessment.
- Present findings and recommendations to Investment Committee.

**Investment execution**
- Lead the investment process and drive term sheet negotiation, deal structuring, and finalizing investment agreements.

**Portfolio management**
- Actively manage the portfolio companies, work closely together to support their growth and strategic initiatives.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and strategic input to the management teams of portfolio companies.

**Market research**
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, market developments and regulatory developments.

**Reporting and analysis**
- Prepare regular investment update reports on performance of portfolio, present key findings and insights to the senior management and investors.
- Monitor and analyse the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies.

**Fundraising**
- Attract new investors and maintain good relationship with existing LPs.

**Team leadership and mentorship**
- Mentor and guide junior members of the investment team, providing expertise in deal analysis, due diligence, and investment decision making.

**Requirements**:

- Min. 10 years of relevant working and managerial experiences in Venture Capital, private equity or a related field, with a strong focus on early-stage investments.
- In-depth knowledge of the early-stage startup ecosystem.
- Proven track record of successful investments, with portfolio of companies demonstrating high growth and returns.
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.
- Excellent leadership and communications skills with the ability to lead and team and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- Diligent, detail-oriented with a positive attitude.
- A degree in business, finance, life sciences, or related field.

**Salary**: $9,000.00 - $13,000.00 per month
