DESIGNATION : IT Business Analyst - Data, SG

RESPONSIBILITIES

**Position Description**:
The ‘IT Business Analyst - Data’ is a role reporting to the ‘Lead IT Business Analyst - Data’ within the Data Team in the JERAGM IT Department.

JERAGM is making a strategic investment in Data and Analytics to enable a more data driven approach to commercial decision making, risk management and operations. As part of this, the Data Team is leading delivery of a modern data platform using Azure services and Databricks. The team is near the beginning of a broad and complex programme of work delivering new capabilities across the business, including:

- A central warehouse of near real-time trade, valuation and risk data
- A central hub for sharing real-time prices and analytics
- Pipelines for scraping, analysing and visualising market prices and fundamental data
- Processes and tools for data governance and discovery

The Data Team is based in Singapore and is made up of:

- A technical team reporting to the ‘Lead Data Engineer’ responsible for integration, data engineering and software engineering / release management
- A business and data analysis team reporting to the ‘Lead Business Analyst - Data’ responsible for functional analysis, governance and reporting / analytics

The ‘IT Business Analyst - Data’ will be part of a Singapore team serving the needs of JERAGM users across all global locations. They will have responsibilities in the following areas as relates to the JERAGM Data, Reporting and Analytics platforms:

- **3**rd** Line Support**:

- Helping users with questions and 3rd line support
- Capturing issues and changes in the IT JIRA ticketing system
- **Business Analysis for Small Change and Projects**:

- Working with the users to understand and prioritise their needs, creating prototypes, worked examples or mock-ups where this helps clarify their functional requirements
- Performing hands-on system or data analysis to define system requirements
- Design and implement reports and solutions to fulfil the functional and system requirements
- Documenting system change requests through a JIRA backlog of epics / user-stories
- Working with other members of the Data Team to breakdown, design and estimate changes
- Support Product Owner in agile delivery teams delivering changes
- Performing testing and running UAT
- Supporting release planning and go-live
- Creating user documentation and providing training
- **Hands-on support for users in Data, Reporting and Analysis**:

- Helping users setup and use the framework
- Undertaking hands-on work to support end-users and then escalating to more technical members of the team when they reach the limit of their knowledge, e.g.
- Explaining key datasets (e.g. data loaded from ETRM systems)
- Analysing data in SQL with tools such as DataBricks, DBeaver etc
- Setting up Excel/Powerquery to download and wrangle data in end-user Excel tools
- Helping users access data in Python in a local IDE and use JERAGM Python libraries / templates for data access, reporting and analysis
- Creating Power BI datasets and dashboards to wrangle and visualise data
- Creating DataBricks Notebooks to process and visualise data e.g. with PySpark
- Managing reporting and analytics through source control and CI/CD pipelines where these are recommended by IT for the end-user teams
- **Acting as Data Steward**:

- Building a relationship with Data Owners in the business
- Coordinating and administering JERAGM Data Governance processes
