Ncss Interns

The National Council of Social Service (NCSS) has been leading the way in driving change and progress in the social service sector. In recent years,

NCSS has expanded its role to identify gaps, fund critical services, invest in developing capabilities of SSAs and sector professionals, and mobilise community and corporate resources to support the sector. We have refreshed our brand strategy and identity reflecting our enhanced sector developer role. The NCSS identity has been updated, and both Community Chest and Social Service Institute will adopt new logos to align with the updated NCSS brand

**CORPORATE GROUP**

Role 1 - Marketing Comms
- Support in the execution of a multi-faceted campaign e.g. SG60 and Year of Celebrating Social Service Professionals.Gain hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing communications, including integrated planning, stakeholder engagement, and campaign management.

Role 2 - Strategic Comms
- Publicity of key announcements:

- translate insights into communication plans
- draft media materials, facilitate media interviews, prepare media analysis reports
- Content-development for NCSS publications/socials
- draft compelling stories and related social posts

Social listening and media analysis analyse insights and prepare reportsRole 3 - Workforce Transformation
- Support in Oral History function and curate stories for disseminationCreate stories using videos, snippets for publishing Oral History within NCSS and to social services agencies

**PHILANTHROPY GROUP**

Role 4 - CommChest
- Support the team in the engagement of partners such as Singapore Kindness Movement (SKM), as well as schools, pre-schools, educational institutions
- Assist to raise awareness on sharing and giving, and to participate in the annual school appeal projects.Support Community Chest's outreach efforts as part of SG60 initiatives

Role 5 - Data Ops
- Provide timely data analysis and insights to the ManagementOrganise an internal dashboard of data points, projections and assumptions for proper knowledge management, strategic planning and reporting purposes

Role 6 - Sustainable Philanthropy
- Monitor and analyse KPIs relating to the Sustainable Philanthropy Framework
- Assist to create visualisation and infographics to communicate impact to managementAssist in the planning of Community of Practice (COP) series which include identifying participants, content planning, design of collaterals, venue sourcing and managing of logistics etc

Role 7 - Knowledge Management (KM)

Support the Donation Management System (DMS) team in organizing, documenting, and sharing critical information within the organization.

Role 8 - Project Management
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of projects.Monitor project deadlines and milestones, and ensure timely completion of tasks

**SERVICES GROUP**

The Service Delivery team is part of Services Group, which aims to fund critical and emerging needs and streamline landscape of services and providers. Services Group does this through connecting with policy owners on outcomes and directions for the social service sector, brokering collaborations among service providers and resourcing the sector (such as funding, data and physical spaces). Part of Service Delivery's work includes managing programmes that support disadvantaged children, youth and families; as well as persons with mental health conditions.
The intern will support two teams that manage programmes that support disadvantaged children, youth and families.

Role 9 - Child, Youth and Families Team

Role 10 - Mental Health Team
- Support development and/or refinement of sub-sector landscapes
- Support discussions with service providers and/or other stakeholder
- Prepare slides to summarise findings for the aboveRecord key notes from the discussions to further refine the findings

Role 10 - Data Related
- Support discussions with service providers and/or other stakeholders and support team's engagements with service providers and/or other stakeholders to better understand their programme offerings
- Propose approach based on engagement findings to obtain data on programme offerings to enable NCSS to have a collective view of the social service sector.Explore technology to automate manual processes

**CAPABILITY GROUP**

Role 12 - People Strategy Team
- Support the team in projects addressing attraction and retention strategies to drive and support their capability development journey in digitalisation, people and volunteer managementSupport in the engagements with talents on their development journey events/programmes organised for capability development and talent engagements

Role 13 - Mental Health Team
- Assist in mapping out the various providers in the mental health and community sub-clusters who could contribute to a stronger social sector in Singapore
