**Role Purpose**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Establish Research Vision**: Define and articulate the research vision, strategic projects, and roadmaps for discovering and developing quantum solutions aimed at addressing significant societal challenges.
- ** Team Leadership and Development**: Manage and inspire a diverse team of researchers and engineers, ensuring that individual goals align with the team’s strategic objectives while fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
- ** Funding and Collaboration**:Identify and pursue research funding opportunities, establishing robust partnerships with funding bodies and academic institutions to support and expand your team’s initiatives.
- ** Representation and Advocacy**: Serve as a representative of Quantinuum in the scientific community, influencing discourse through research outputs, publications, and technical contributions of high relevance.
- ** Client Engagement and Commercialization**: Work closely with commercial teams to ensure successful execution of client projects, understanding and addressing client needs while managing senior stakeholder relationships effectively.
- ** Drive Innovation Culture**: Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, staying abreast of emerging trends in quantum research and advising on implications for organizational strategy.

**Must have**:

- ** Extensive Research Leadership**:A minimum of 10 years of experience leading scientific research initiatives in academic or industrial settings, with a strong portfolio of publications and high citation impact.
- ** Advanced Educational Qualifications**: A Ph.D. in quantum information, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.
