**OUR CLIENT**

The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of a local public listed company with 2021 annual revenue of SGD565.5m (+9% growth). The company operates as independent entity which provides printed circuit board and box-build assembly, equipment design, cable harness assembly and manufacturing services. In addition, they provide value-added services such as materials management, circuit layout, prototype and development engineering, metal stamping, cable harnessing and precision machined components.

As part of pursuing the strategy of growing customer base with agile supply chain management capability for high mix low volume business model, they customer is now hiring a Director of Materials Management to lead this effort.

**THE POSITION**
The **Director of Materials Management **reports to Managing Director/ Vice President of Operations, and is responsible for supply chain management, procurement and purchasing, logistics and warehouse management, and materials planning and management. He/she will work closely with the management team to execute business plan with a team of 100 staff. In addition, he/she will coordinate with the parent company for joint activities leveraging on each other strengths to achieve business goals.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Lead and manage the Materials Group, namely Procurement, Purchasing, Planning and Store/Logistics functions for both PCBA, Equipment and Cable Harness Assembly divisions.
- Ensure Materials Group is operating efficiently within a set of guidelines and to deliver the results as per the KPIs set out.
- Ensure materials are sourced and purchased at the most competitive prices.
- Ensure minimum disruption of supply of materials to support customer demand and at the same time manage the inventory to avoid excesses and obsolescence.
- Ensure resources are properly trained, utilized and motivated.
- Ensure an effective purchasing system to source/ purchase materials per customers’ Approved Vendor List (AVL), in accordance to specifications and drawing prerequisites.
- Initiate cost reduction program for direct and indirect material costs at periodic intervals to improve margins.
- Ensure that integrity and ethical standards are maintained in the purchasing department.
- Plan production schedules with the respective plants to meet customer requirements.
- Manage warehouse to achieve control and stock integrity.
- Responsible in meeting team’s performance targets as well as to carry out measures to improve team’s operating efficiency.
- Ensure quality policies and practices are in compliance to audit requirements and risk management.

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Supply Chain Management.
- Proficiency in English, Chinese and/or Bahasa or Vietnamese.
- At least 10 years of experience in senior management and supply chains management role.
- Successful track record of managing the supply chain of high mix low volume electronic manufacturing business. Experienced in sales and operations planning (S&OP) process.
- Experienced in materials planning and control using manufacturing resource planning (MRP II) concept and/or system.
- Experienced in warehouse management system (VMS) both concept and system usage.
- Experienced in using key performance indices, e.g., cash conversion cycle (CCC), inventory turns, etc., to drive business results.
- Experienced in using process improvement tools to optimize business process within the Materials Group and other internal departments; and external vendors/government agencies/customers.
- Ability to build strong business relationship with suppliers, i.e., manufacturers, distributors, third party logistics, service vendors, etc.
- Strong understanding of commodity price trends, components cost structure and foreign currency trends.
- Familiar with various problem-solving techniques to resolve business and organization issues.
- Proven leadership ability with good negotiation and people management skills.
- Proficient in both written and presentation skills.
