An international hedge fund/asset management group seeks a proactive and detail-oriented analyst to join its legal & compliance team in Hong Kong or Singapore. The Compliance analyst will work closely with the legal and compliance team to help ensure that the firm’s business activities in Asia are conducted in strict accordance with regulatory requirements. This position affords the opportunity for broad exposure to the firm’s trading, operations, and investor relations groups, as well as the chance to handle real-time issues related to the firm’s suite of global investment products in a fast-paced, constantly evolving regulatory environment. The role also offers the opportunity to work in an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging working environment.
- Responsibilities:_
- Collaborating with compliance staff to support the firm’s business units.
- Designing and reviewing automated compliance monitoring reports.
- Ensuring adherence to compliance policies.
- Proving real time compliance advice to the business.
- Preparing regulatory filings.
- You’ll also work on long-term projects to maintain the firm’s high standards of compliance with new and existing regulations.
- Experience and Skills:_
- A bachelor’s degree or higher is required, along with excellent analytical abilities, drafting and verbal communication skills, and well-developed numeracy.
- Fluency in English is a must. Fluency in Mandarin is particularly helpful, but not required; Japanese and/or Korean language skills are a plus.
- Organisational and project management acumen are of great importance, as are a keen eye for detail, a robust work ethic, and a willingness to learn.
- Any of the following work experience is preferred but not essential: paralegal work, accounting, financial operations, compliance, or investment management is beneficial but is not required.
