JR22488 IT Data Center & Infrastructure Lead

The Data Center Lead takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. This individual will design and manage the data center space and be accountable for working with the internal facilities team to ensure power connectivity, cable infrastructure, and cooling capacity. You will also provide a forward-looking strategy that will meet the needs of our data center consumers. (Compute/Network/Storage) and help establish and drive data center standards. As the Data Center Lead, you will generate ideas, communicate recommendations and drive to implementation alongside facilities technicians.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for day-to-day activities of Data Center infrastructure.
- Responsible for Operations within a Data Center, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management, and metric reporting
- Responsible for the planning and scheduling of technicians and parts needed to perform maintenance activities.
- Work with internal facilities team and contractors deploy new racks/equipment in the data centers.
- Should have strong knowledge in cabling standards - Copper and Fiber cabling inside the Data center ( Passive structure cabling).
- Engage in improvement projects, often requiring reaching out to a variety of support teams and driving them from conception to completion.
- Understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations.
- Working knowledge to support all the necessary procedures related to Data Centre Audits, required approvals, accreditation, certification, etc.
- Ensures the Data Center Facility is operating to its maximum resiliency and efficiency
- Coordinates with internal IT departments including but not limited to: Server, Storage, Network Operations, Security.
- Responsible for Data Center site safety and environmental compliance.
- Develops and manages the Data Center budget for maintenance, repairs, capital, and general operating costs.
- Accountable for managing all Data Center Facility documentation, including Plans, Procedures, and Operations Manuals
- On-call 24x7 for incident management and data center emergency response
- Demonstrate critical thinking and innovation in approaching traditional data center and emergent challenges.
- Responsible for the planning and scheduling of technicians and parts needed to perform maintenance activities.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects based on department and corporate objectives
- Communicate Data Center infrastructure strategy and status through meetings, presentations, and reports to team members and management
- Establish benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical data center infrastructure and maintenance
- Manage access to the data center to ensure the security of the assets.
- Work with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize data center safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.
- Responsible for approving the installation of the racks and coordinating the provision of power/cooling.
- Assist in the design, implementation, commissioning, and build-out of new facilities and building remodels.
- Drive & implement projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability & reliability.
- Management of the DC, in the provision of infrastructure & inventory asset management
- Conduct monthly/quarterly review meetings with data center consumers.
- Manage data center to resolve any infrastructure issues.
- Good to have CCNA and Data center infrastructure management industry standard certification.

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**:

- More than 10 years of experience with at least 4 years of experience in Data Center
- Hands-On Experience in O&M of large physical infrastructure components of a large Tier-3 Data Centre
- Experience in Green DC physical infrastructure design, implementation and operation and maintenance.
- Working knowledge to support all the necessary procedures related to Data Centre Audits, required approvals, accreditation, certification, etc.
- Good to have CCNA and Data center infrastructure management industry certification’s.
