**The Challenges**:
**Primary Responsibilities**:
Clinical
- Provide phone, face-to-face and online mental health screening and assessment with young people in distress
- Identify young persons’ medical, psychological, social, environmental, vocational and financial concerns and needs
- Obtain corroborative history from young persons’ significant others whenever deemed necessary with consent from young persons
- Conduct risk assessments, safety planning and implement safety plans as appropriate
- Conduct psychiatric assessment and Mental State Examination
- Provide interim brief counselling or therapy during initial contact, post CHAT mental health assessment and/or awaiting downstream referral to other professional/specialist services
- Formulate and recommend bio-psychosocial follow-up to young people and/or referring party
- Provide professional opinion, psychoeducation and adequate support to young people or individuals seeking assistance
- Facilitate appropriate referrals and liaise with other service providers whenever necessary
- Review and evaluate progress of distressed young people at appropriate juncture
- Work in close collaboration with primary clinician and multi-disciplinary team
- Serve as a resource base for new / junior case managers to tap on

Public Education and Outreach
- Be involved in training and outreach initiatives to improve mental health literacy and build capability in young people and the general public
- Offer professional opinion or input for media interviews or student projects
- Ensure consistency of CHAT’s identity across various outreach platforms

Service Improvement
- Obtain feedback on CHAT’s service from young people and/or the general public
- Assist in review and evaluation of feedback of CHAT’s service
- Work in collaboration with young people and team to develop, implement and evaluate new strategies and initiatives to enhance the experience of young people with CHAT

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling
- Experience in working with young people aged 16 to 30 in mental health setting will be of added advantage
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as computer literacy
- Ability to work independently with confidence as well as working as an integral part of a team of professionals
- Must be a good team player with passion in youth mental health, good attitude towards learning, mature, sensitive, emotionally stable, flexible and adaptable to varying situations
- Willingness to work from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 12noon to 9pm
